Being a true symbol of "Resurrection", "New life" and "Hopefulness", a decorated egg marks the most joyful Orthodox holiday in Russia – Easter. And now one cannot imagine the Holy Easter Day without its luxurious satellite - a Faberge Egg.

Designed originally by a young talented jeweler Peter Carl Faberge, the first egg had been destined to catch a most sophisticated fancy of Russian Empress Maria Fyodorovna. The goal had been certainly achieved, and a new masterpiece enriched the world's treasury of fine objects d'art.

Since his wife had expressed a thorough delight with the Faberge egg, the Czar decided to reward Carl Faberge and ordered a new Easter egg to be delivered to the court every year. When Czar Alexander III died, his son Nicholas II decided to continue the course of life initiated by his late father. And the order for new Faberge eggs was re-commissioned once again. The Master presented the Royal Family with more than unconventional pieces of jewelry. The Faberge eggs caused nothing less than a furor at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. All the awards have been taken by the young craftsman who has instantly become a world's famous artist.
