This Russian Matryoshka Nesting Dolls set features probably the most exciting event of childhood - the Christmas Party near the Christmas Tree.
The Babushka Nesting Dolls’ artist has caught the moment, when Father Frost with his granddaughter came to the party for to give presents to the kids.
The first Russian Matryoshka Nesting Doll depicts the most important guests of the Christmas Party – Father Frost and Snowmaiden. In Russian culture, Father Frost (Ded Moroz) is equivalent to Santa Claus. Snowmaiden is his granddaughter, which helps him with giving presents to children. Both Father Frost and Snowmaiden wear traditional costumes – long warm coats, hats and mittens with fur decorations. Their cheeks are pink because of strong frost, but their eyes and lips are smiling because they are really happy to be present at the Kid’s Party. Russian Matryoshka Nesting Dolls’ has painted a little Robin bird sitting on Snowmaiden’s left hand. Robin bird has always been associated with winter and snow among Russians. It is a symbol of Russian winter.
