Pushkin's "FairyTale of Tsar Saltan" story is skillfully presented on this 5 piece Russian Matryoshka Nesting Dolls set. Fairy-tales, written by the most famous Russian poet, have always been a nice subject for Russian fine art. A lot of paintings, Matryoshkas, lacquer boxes were devoted to his outstanding poems. And these nicely performed Babushka Dolls are not exception.

Hand crafted and hand panted, Russian Matryoshka Nesting Dolls show 10 episodes from the famous story, including the magical Tsar Saltan's Kingdom, Mighty Bogatyr Prince Gvidon and the Beautiful Princess-Swan. The smallest Russian Matryoshka Nesting Doll depicts a wooden barrel among rolls of sea waves. Prince Gvidon and his mother were put into this barrel by his father Tsar Saltan. But Mighty Bogatyr Prince Gvidon was so strong and brave that he could break the barrel and come to light with his kind mother. They got to the beautiful island and started to live there.

Some time has passed and Gvidon met Princess-Swan, shown on another Russian Matryoshka Nesting Doll. She looked like a real swan with the only difference – she could speak like a human. Also, if you take a closer look, you’ll notice that there is a tiny golden crown on the Swan’s head. Obviously, there’s a hint that this swan is a Princess!

The other Russian Matryoshka Nesting Dolls feature the scenes with Beautiful Princess-Swan, after her transformation from the wan into girl, and her beloved Prince Gvidon.

A great attention was put to Matryoshka girl, painted at the top of every item.

They hypnotize viewers with their deep and magical color, because her mysterious aquamarine eyes speak directly to your heart and soul. Matryoshka's head scarf was hand painted according to Russian traditional Zhostovo style. Here you can see full-blown scarlet, pink and creamy roses on the deep dark ruby background.
